Does an SOA implementation need to have an ESB? Most every article, book or document that talks about Service Oriented Architecture implementation talks about an Enterprise Service Bus, but is an Enterprise Service Bus required for an implementation to be considered an SOA implementation? In this session we will look at the Enterprise Service Bus, it's role in an implementation and key characteristics of an ESB implementation. We will also look at some lessons learned based on large scale ESB implementations.
Your CTO has said "Go forth and do SOA". You've heard the hype, you've read the hype and you've seen the hype. Come see how it's really done. In this session we will look at where to start in moving your organization into doing Service Oriented Architecture. We have collected input from many successful (and not so successful) SOA attempts. Key topics covered include:
- Is SOA really new?
- SOA Adoption: Where to start, what works, what doesn't work... and things that are hard to make work
