Summit County StageThe Summit County Stage is a "free" bus service - that is, there is no charge at the time you ride it. Instead, it is financed by a sales tax levied on visitors to Summit County (Summit County includes the towns of Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Dillon, Frisco and Silverthorne). The whole of Summit County is a high Alpine environment, and the mountainous terrain prevents having a lot of multi-lane roads. This free bus service reduces both pollution and crowding caused by individual use of automobiles. The information provided here is intended to provide an introductory overview of this service; for actual schedules and routes, you should pick up a Summit County Stage flyer - they are widely available in and around Keystone. Buses leave Copper Mountain, Silverthorne, Keystone and Breckenridge at the top of the hour and meet at the Frisco Transfer Center on the half hour. Connections to the above destinations are made at the Frisco Transfer Center where changing buses may be required. The Keystone bus connects with the Dillon Valley bus in Dillon. Normal hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Later hours (until 2:00 AM) are sometimes kept during special events, but none of those are currently scheduled during the week of the Colorado Software Summit conference. A complete schedule starting from Keystone can be found at the Summit County Stage Web site. Ski and bike racks are provided on the buses use them at your own risk, as the Summit County Stage is not responsible for any damage or loss of property. No bicycles are allowed inside buses, and no bicycles are carried after dark. The Summit County Stage operates on an on-demand paratransit service for guests who need this service.
